Hello, I am an adopted child of an adopted child, roadblocks are my middle name in trying to find my family. I know my real father was born in Lake Village on 04/22/1953, He had a brother born in June of 1954. Ones birth name was William and one was Raury, we think the last name was Harrison or Harriston. They were left at a shopping mall or a store when they were only a couple of years old. After they were adopted His name was Melvin Cuzick. My dad died when I was only a couple of years old, and I was adopted, I have reunited with my sisters and we are trying to find more family. Please if anyone knows any information let me know. I am looking for information on a Neil (Neal)McFARLAND. He was born bet 1828-1832 in maybe SC. He married an Ophelia "Orpie" TAYLOR in 1852 in Ashley CO, AR. They had at least one child that I know of at this time - Nancy born in Oct 20, 1852 in either Chicot or Ashley CO.

Neal owed land in Chicot CO, AR. Sometime before 1896 they moved to OK and he died there bef 1896 in Bryan CO, OK.

Hope to find more information on Neil.

Can anyone help me with these people?
My great great granddad was David Kimpel born in Oberlustadt, Germany January 18, 1856 he died May 21, 1929 in Dermott Arkansas. He was married to a woman named Bulah A. Godwin (or Kinnibrew) she was born April 1866 and died in 1936. They owned a store in Dermott Arkansas and I know he was one of the founding members of Dermott and was even Mayor of Dermott for a year. Anyway I cannot find any info on her anywhere. [Allison Cassatta] I am hoping someone has access to obits, and other resources there. Any Obits or official records on Dave and Bulah would be GREATLY appreciated. Their children were Ernest Blake Kimpel, Lenora Kimpel, Bertha M. Kimpel, Ben Drew Kimpel. David's folks are Joseph Kimpel and Theresia Fanny Baer both from Germany. His siblings are Hannchen Kimpel, Rosalie Kimpel, Bernard Kimpel, Albert Kimpel, Ludwig Kimpel, Frieda Kimpel, Bertha B Kimpel. I know Bulah had a half sister named Littia Cecil and I know her mother was married twice. But that is all I know about her. Does anyone out there know any of these people? And can anyone help me? I have a little more info on this group. They were Jewish but when David married Bulah this branch became Methodist. I found a census record that said Bulah folks were from Mississippi but I couldn't begin to tell you where. If you ware related I would love to hear from you. I am searching for children/grandchildren of John Glenn Edwards, son of John Brooks Edwards and Glennie Edwards. The Social Security Death Records show that he died in Eudora, Chicot, Arkansas in April 1984. He is buried in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Bienville Parish, Louisiana, along with his parents and brother. John Glenn's grandfather was James Henry Edwards of Union and Bienville Parishes. John Glenn had a brother, James Hardy, who may have resided in Eudora. I am researching the Edwards line, and I know nothing about this great-uncle, John Brooks, and his line. Any direction/help would be greatly appreciated, especially any information re obituarys for that area.

Graves of Eliza Ann Browder and Children

I am searching for information on the graves of Eliza Ann Browder and her 4 children. She and her husband, Martin Van Buren Browder, left Florida and headed to Texas about 1874. Allegedly, Eliza and 4 children died of swamp fever along the way. I can find no documentation, explaination nor reasoning as to why they were in Arkansas. Family lore says that Martin buried his wife and 4 children in a "common grave" and fenced it off with cypress wood. He then continued on to Texas with his young daughter Belle Matilda. No word as to weather or not he left any other defining information on the grave.

Seeking information regarding Minnie Hunnicutt, born 1882 and Ida M Hunnicutt born 1884, in Chicot County, Arkansas. These two sisters were residing in the household of Susan Lemons, and her son Albert Hunnicutt Lemons in the 1900 Chicot County, Arkansas Census. They are believed to be the daughters of Thomas J. Hunnictt and Sarah Frances (Fannie) Finney Hunnicutt. Thomas died soon after they were born and I have no idea what happened to Fannie, his wife.

I am hoping to find someone that might have some knowledge of the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, Chicot Co., Ar. My grandmother is supposedly buried in this cemetery. I have been there twice recently, and cannot find the headstone, so I am left to believe that she does not have one. I am wondering though, if there might be some records of the burial, or maybe a caretaker who might have knowledge of the burial. Or maybe even a local funeral home with records. She died in April 1920.

I have a copy of a family tree done by my Ggrandfather showing that a Katherine Sinex went to IN where she married Sandy Faulkner. This move to IN would have taken place somewhere around 1818. According to this chart Sandy & Katherine had 9 children. I believe the chart was made before 1850.
On the web I found that Faulkner married an Evaline Peakes in 1830. How can I check this out further? Did he, in fact, marry a second time? Also, what was his middle name? This could be a clue for me.

Carneal Warfield and his wife, Olivia (Montgomery) Warfield were my Godparents, but because of Mr. Warfield's untimely death, their son, Carneal, acted in his stead. My parents, Lucy and Lawrence Ralph of Eudora were close friends of Carneal and his first wife, Clara May, and I remember their going to many dances which took place in the enormous center hall in the Warfield ante-bellum home on Grand Lake. Cannon shell holes in the walls were evidence of its presence prior to the War Between the States. As a child, I was fascinated by the enormous cistern on the gallery connecting the main house with the outlying kitchen - and always bemoaned he fact that Aunt Olivia had removed the lovely stairway, necessitating the use of the back stairs.. Carneal and Clara May had two daughers, Carnelia, and Daisy Olivia (Sis). In the late 20's, Olivia married J. H. Higgins, and after his death moved into Eudora. Carneal married Anna Ruth Hart and moved to Lake Village, Arkansas, where he continued to practice law. ( He served as Representative to the state legislature for several years.) The grand Warfield home, sold to Mr.and Mrs.Alex Wilson, eventually burned to the ground. A sad ending for a monument to the past

Looking for info on the large antebellum home known to some as the Warfield Mansion, near Readland on Grand Lake. A red brick, 2-story home with white columns. It was reported to have had an escape tunnel and bullet holes in the walls. The home burned in the late 1950's.

Looking for information on Isaac SUMNER (abt 1830) married to Martha McGarity (abt 1836). I have found them in the Chico County census records for 1850, 1860, and 1880 with their 7 children Forest (1854), John (1863), Lenora (1864), Lela (1870), Ida (1871), Piety (1874), and Grace (1876). Grace is my husband's paternal grandmother. She is buried near Austin, TX. According to the 1880 Census, Lenora was born in TX and all the others were born in AR. I would love to know what took the family to TX and back to AR between 1864 and 1870. In 1850, Isaac was 21 (occ. overseer) and living with his parents. In 1880 his occupation was farmer. Any information would be appreciated.

I am looking for a John, Thomas or possibly Alfred TUCKER that might have been living in Arkansas before 1845. The Tucker I am looking for might have married an Elizabeth Badeau from LA or MS. At one time we thought we had them connected to Jane Humphry, but that is not correct.
John Jefferson Tucker was born in 1845 in McComb, MS, the son of the above query.J.J. Tucker married (in 1875) Anneta Whitcomb of Covington St. Tam., LA. JJ. and Anetta named one of their sons, Thomas Brinsfield Tucker. There might be a Brinsfield connection. We are having a devil of a time finding out about his parentage. Family lore is very confusing and contridictory!

In 1880, the above named was listed in Railroad. Family letters state he died in 1895, so he would not have made the 1900 census. Hastings at Lake Village 1905 to 1920s

My husband's father was known as Ollie Hastings living in the Lake Village area in the early 1900s. He had two daughters born : 1907 in Greenville, Ms. and : 1919 in Lake Village. His wife at this time was Minta May (Carver) Hastings. She died while they lived there and he moved to NE Ar. Some of the census records are unreadable and we have had trouble finding information. hi! i am searching for ancestories in va. that had a son that moved to ala abt 1805 to 1808 i beleive that it would be george that had the son john who married a sarah_______ or vice versa i beleive that he came here abt the end of the civil war (not sure abt this) i know that both were in ala in 1808 and that george died 1824 not sure abt john i also beleive that there is a connection to the armstead or armistead family! my great,great grand father was armstead rogers who died in noxubee co ms 1860 he was born in va abt 1806-7
there is not a will with names just a list of items george owned nothing on john yet my great grand father and one of his brothers named their first son john and their first daughter sarah these names make me believe that john is the son of george any help will surely be appreciated please contact

Frederick Hill, aged 58 years, died in Grand Lake, Ark. on Oct. 8, 1853, of yellow fever. Frederick had a wife, Salome, and some children. After he died, his wife went to Illinois, to live with a daughter.
I have his obituary, from an Erie, Pa. newspaper, but can't find his burial place. I would appreciate any help. Where are vital records for Chicot Co.?
