Kinda tough to do research without any first names, isn't it??
My Thompsons were Scotch Irish and probably not Indian. They originally came from NC then to Roane Co TN, then Bradley Co TN, then Carroll Co AR and then finally to Christian Co MO, where most of them ended up after the Civil War. As far as I know Josiah Blair Thompson & his wife Margaret & family were the only ones to stay in Boone Co AR. Margaret was said to have been part Cherokee Indian, but I don't have any proof of that. She died sometime after 1880 and Josiah remarried and started a second family. He died 1923 in Christian Co MO and is buried in the Old Boston Cemetary with some of his brothers & sisters.
Josiah had twelve brothers & sisters but so far we haven't found a photo of any of them! In fact we have only been able to dig up photos of three people in this family.
