Parson New was shot and killed by Jesse James in April 1874 in Boone County, Arkansas. I have an article from the Kansas City Star that mentions this fact. (Parson New is gggrandfather....) He was riding with a posse organized by W F Pace and the James boys had agreed to surrender themselves but only to Parson New. When the Parson arrived Jesse shot and killed him. I am looking for additional references to Parson New's death to support that this incident did indeed happen. I haven't found anything in the James family stories so far...Can anyone point me in the direction of further confirmations (or places to look for confirmation) that this story is true?
