William Darnell (1810) of Pickens Co., Georgia

I am seeking information on William Darnell, b. ca 1810 in either No. Carolina or So. Carolina. Census records indicate he was still living in Pickens Co. Georgia in 1870. Died in Benton Co. prior to 1880 (can't read date on stone). Is Sarah Darnell, who married Andrew Jackson Reece February 1, 1863, in Pickens Co. GA, his daughter? She is buried in the Georgia Flat Cemetery with Andrew Jackson Reece and William is buried about 1/2 mile away in a small, unmarked cemetery with several others (graves - no markers). He has the only readable stone. His widow, Martha (Brooks) Darnell, is in Benton County in the 1880 census living living in the area of Georgia Flat. Martha Brooks, wife of Isom Brooks, is also buried at Georgia Flat.

Great grandad is buried in a field near Pea Ridge and great grandmother is supposedly buried in Bentonville Cemetary.

Both are buried in the Gentry cemetery,but only show year of death. If I can find specific dates, then I'll be able to reqst obits.

I am looking for a death record for Meredith Hughs(Hughes) who was living in Benton County (Big Spring) in the 1860 census with his wife Nancy and son Samuel. I have not been able to locate Meredith and Nancy after the 1860 census. Another researcher has his date of death as 1900 in Arkansas. As Meredith owned land in Big Spring, I feel he possibly died in Benton County. Any help locating Meredith and his wife Nancy will be greatly appreciated.

Ark. in 1853, He died in 1881 after he had been married to Sarah Evett 1879 two years and had a 1 year old son,who was born in Decatar Ar. where they lived at the time of his death. I would like to know why he died so young and where he is buried. Also his full birthdate also his wife (Sarahs) parents etc. After his death she married Marion Abercrombie. She was better known in Maysville Ark. as Grandma Abercrombie. She died at the age of 90, Jan 1946 they are buried in Maysville Cemetery.

George McCullough Sr. born about 1890 in South Carolina came to Phillips County Arkansas about 1900, married and they had a son. About 1920 His wife and son- George McCullough Jr. moved to Siloam Springs where Grorge Jr. was raised by his mother. Geroge Jr. was in WW II and returned to Phillips County for a visit soon after the war ended. Does any one have any information on this McCullough Family ?? Any Information would be of help .

I am seeking information about this couple who resided in Flint, Benton Co., AR from 1870 - 1900. They moved there from Fulton Co., AR where they resided in Bennetts Bayou (1850) and Union (1860). William was born in TN about 1825 and Frances was born in TN March 1830. They were found in the federal census records for all the years mentioned above. Frances was widowed per the 1900 census and she does not appear in the 1910 or later census records. Based on their next door neighbors in the 1860 and 1880 census records I am convinced that they are related to the Ezekiel Smith family in Ripley Co., MO who moved from Macon Co., TN. I found my grandfather 1900 census Madison Co. AR with his listed as a widower at that point he had Ellen Ruby ritchie (possibly spelled richie) who married a Arthur H Ritchie no relation until they married, then Allen, then garry ritchie, charles or charley ritchie, Lon which is my father, and Robert who was born 1897 possibly born in Ark around the red river valley area of Van Buren or in Redland OK, I would like to know more about this family and get some blanks that i am missing of what happened to Allen, or Isacc Edward, or Allen then are the lost ones i have some information on but would like to know more. I'm looking for information about Frances Marion Crawford who died in 1963 in Siloam Springs. He was born March 7, 1878 in Scottville, Illinois. His 1st wife was Ardella Hopper from Scottville, IL. His 2nd wife was Dora Belle Trigg Crawford. His father was John Henry Crawford who was born in Scottville, Illinois. Francis had 1 brother, Edward Ervin Crawford and 1 sister, Lucinda Ellinor Crawford Payne. He also had 1 half brother, William Sargent Crawford. I am a descendant from his first wife. Looking for onformation on a W.H. (William) Pershall in Benton Co. He was in newspaper articles in 1895 in Benton Co. and Siloam Springs as having shot and killed a "Lanthrop". Interested in census listings of family members. He was a widow in 1895 in his 50's. Supposedly had land in either Boone or Marion Co. prior to that. May have died in Benton Co. if they convicted him.

I have been researching a William Henry Pershall that seems to fit this description, including a daughter that claims to have been born in Benton County Arkansas in 1882.

John Elliott and family are listed in the 1840 Benton Co. AR census. There are 12 persons in the household; John who is between 40 - 50, his wife between 30-40, 3 sons under 15 and 3 females under 5 and 2 under 15 which are probably daughters. There is a female between 15-20 who may be a young widow with a daughter.

The Elliott's neighbors are M. Caviness, W.W. Williams, S.C. Aldridge and O. Meeks. Does anyone have information on this Elliott family?

BENTON COUNTY; I am seeking info on the mystery man of my family, my grandfather, Calvin Frank Webber, born 21 Mar 1844 in Washington, Arkansas, died in Mena, Polk County on 16 Aug 1900. We don't know which Washington that was; the County; one of the two towns or of the thirteen Washington townships in Arkansas. He was married to Matilda Frances (Fannie) OWENS in Mena, AR on 30 Mar 1876. She was born in Mena on 9 Apr 1859, gave birth to nine children, mostly in Hot Springs, Garland Co., and died back in Mena, Polk Co. on 9 Apr 1912. Both Frank and Fannie were deaf and both were buried in Owens Chapel Cemetery outside Mena, along with several relatives.
We know a good deal about most of the descendants of this couple, but nothing more than the given name of Frank's mother, Nancy. We will appreciate any info you can share about ancestors, and we thank you.

We have just started the process of locating information on my husband's grandparents, Henry and Eva (Adams) Haley. We know that in February of 1921, they gave birth to a son, Wayne Harold Haley, who was my husband's father. They lived at that time in Rogers, Arkansas, which is in Benton County. The only other info we have is that he was a farmer, she was a housewife who gave birth to 3 children, 2 of which lived. Maybe someone has a relative who might remember something of this family. Some time in the mid-1850s to 1960s Charles WEED and his wife, Nancy Louise RICHARDSON moved to Sulphur Springs, Benton County, Arkansas. There son, Benjamin Franklin WEED, married Mary Edith WASS. Her family apparently moved to the area from Monroeville, Allen County, Indiana.
In 1893, Benjamin and Mary Edith moved to the Nations, Oklahoma Territory around January-February 1893. Their first child, Samuel E. WEED was born in the Nations on 19 November 1893. The WASS family also moved to the Nations at the same time.
I am interested in any information pertaining to the WASS and WEED family that lived in the Benton County, Arkansas area in the 1860s to 1900s. These are my great, great grandparents.

Mary Cook Davenport, widow of Jeptha Davenport migrated with children: Nancy C., Lavina, Mary Jane, (b. 1840 in TN.), Florida Adeline and John William Davenport from TN. She married Benjamin Hubbard in Washington Co., AR in 1849. They were found in the 1850 Benton Co, AR Census with his children and her children. Other census records show they also had children.

Mary Jane Davenport, b. 1840, married Murvin "Mac" McDonald Silvertooth and moved to Izard and Baxter, Cos., AR. Their children: Sarah Florida Ann, William McDonald, Mary Florida Ann, John Riley, Murvin Frank, and James M. Sometime after the 1880 Census we have been told they moved back to Benton Co., AR. Believe Mac died about 1895 and Mary in 1900-1. Exact date and burial place unknown at this time. Found records that W. M. Silvertooth (son of Mac and Mary) paid personal property taxes in 1890 in Lone Cedar District.

My idea is to combine the efforts of the Benton County group with the Washington County group. I think more things would be accomplished if the groups worked together.

Also, the BCCPG used to have a website. I was wondering if it might be helpful to have a MySpace page for publicity?

EULA BURROW was living in Siloam Springs at the time, and according to my Aunt, EULA named her baby HANNAH MARIE.
HANNAH MARIE was born Jan 11, 1914 in Benton Co.
I'm not sure if people were required to register thier babies at the time or not??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It might be helpful to know that her sister, JENNIE STELLMON had a little boy a few days later at the same place.

She was of Seminole descent and it is said he was Cherokee. Nothing is known of either set of parents.
Their children were a daughter, name unknown, and sons :

Lunsford and /or Buck

I am looking for any relatives of Joseph Lunsford and/or Martha Amelia Buck...my grandmother's parents. Joseph Lunsford died in approximately 1904 of tuberculosis (family stories hold that he is buried somewhere in or near Rogers, AR); his birthdate and location are unknown but we believe his father was Thomas B. Lunsford and he had a sister, Lucy, and a brother, William. We have a picture of Joseph Lunsford with his children Thomas B. and Lucy with "Fromater GTW Springdale, Ark" printed on the cardstock, probably right around 1900. Martha Amelia (known as Millie) was born October 6, 1879 (location unknown). She had an older sister, Edith Myrtle (called Myrtle who later married a Mr. Horton) born November 20, 1875; an older brother, Harry, born February 11, 1878; and a younger brother, Walter, born February 2, 1882. Their mother was Helena Victoria Haskel Buck (born approx 1856) who later married a Mr. Franklin and moved to Palo Alto, California around 1907 (we believe the two girls and their mother moved with them, but the boys remained behind). Helena Haskel's mother may have had the last name of "Atwood" and was born around 1831. Joseph and Amelia had only one child, Helen Elizabeth, born October 7, 1902, so any relations would have to come from one generation back. I'm just getting started on this search, but haven't been able to find anything in census records, cemetary searches, &c. Any assistance would be great! Thanks in advance.

We know she was buried from Peterson Funeral Home in Aurora,MO.(So far no additional info has been found by funeral director-just her birth & death date & location of death-he is still searching as of 1-5-08) Buried in Clay Hill Cem near Cassville, MO. Listed on same stone with her parents (Perles & Sadie Alice Treat) & sister Alice Cheney & Alice's infant child. SSDI lists Dorothy's residence as Joplin, Mo.

No obit can be found in or around Cassville, Auroa, Joplin, Nevada, MO & Gravette, AK.

We are only guessing that maybe she was visiting some unknown relatives in Gravette when she died.

I know of at least one son by the first marriage.....Allen Rich (sources say he's buried in the Gamble Cem., Centerton, AR). Allen married (1) Nancy Roma Onstott and (2) Martha (Rodgers) Allen.

William Rich lived in the Bloomfield-Cherokee City area of Benton Co., AR....during his 2nd marriage he lived in the historic community of Eldorado. His wife, Ann, run the hotel there. Any information or pictures of the hotel would be most welcome.

Looking for the parents of Henry Broadhurst b. 10 Sep 1817; place unkown. Married Catherine L. Smith 30 Jul 1839 in Clay Co., MO. Catherine b. 20 Nov 1821 in TN. Henry d. 29 Jan 1906; Catherine d. 21 Feb 1907. Both died in Pea Ridge, Benton, AR and bur. in the old Pea Ridge, AR Cemetery. Can anyone help me witht the parents of either Henry Broadhurst or Catherine L. Smith?

Wife Elizabeth 40 born SC, Daughter Merand age 19 born Ark and daughter Elizabeth age 15 born Arkansas...One son William age 5 and a daughter (my ggrandmother) age 1..Does anyone have anything on the Jackson family? marriage of Elizabeth Williams to a Jackson?
