My name is Robert Moore. I am descended from James Reed and Neoma (Oma) Dover through their son Joel Franklin Reed. I saw your posting and wanted to see what info that you had. I have been unable to find marriage info. I have Joel's death certificate which says that James Reed was born in Doe Run, St. Francois, MO. It says that Neoma was born in Licking, MO. In the 1870 census, they are listed in Arkansas, Marion, Rapps Barren, He is listed as James Read with wife Oma Read.

In the 1850 census, there is a Lillaoma (probably Neoma) Dover listed in Ripley Co., MO. She is 7 and born in ARK. Family lore is that Oma was native american. Joel Franklin Reed was born 26 Apr. 1866 in Illinois and died 14 Dec. 1933 in Esther, St. Francois, MO. Here is a link to his death certificate. Copy and paste it to make it work.

In the 1900 census for Madison, St. Francois, MO, Joel is listed as Reed, Joel Head, White, Male, April 1866, 34, Married, 3 years, born in Illinois, father born MO, mother born AK, Farmer, rented, Educated.
