Okay, the Reed/Dover line is getting frustrating. I just thought of a new theory. What if your Meoma "Oma" Dover was first married to James Reed and then to John Penn Reed. Do you have any birth info for Oma Dover? If Oma was b. abt 1845. It could fit. I know I am grasping here a bit.

The 3 known children of James M. Reed and Oma Dover are 1. Joel Franklin Reed b. 26 Apr 1866, 2. Mary E. Reed b. 1867, and 3. Francis L. Reed b. Oct 1869. However, I can not find them listed after the 1870 census. I have searched the 1880 census quite a few times, but to no avail. In other words, I can not find my Oma Dover after 1870.

However, James Reed is listed in the 1900 census with his daughter Francis Reed Barnes in Arkansas, Randolph, Roanoake. James Reed is listed as 71 b. Oct 1828 in Ark and both parents are listed as born in Arkansas. He is widowed. However, his daughter lists his birth as MO.

Anyway, I am just speculating. I would really appreciate any info on your Oma Dover (b.date, place, parents, etc.). My theory is probably debunked b/c Oma would have been listed as Mrs. Oma Reed in her marriage to John Penn Reed.
