Could you check your Ashley County records for my ggrandparents, Martha (Mattie) Byrd, probably born in the 1860's in Ashley Co. and John Edward Hill, birth unknown. I know John Hill was married to Mattie Byrd in July 1886 in Ashley Co. and had previously been married before but I know nothing else about them. Thanks for your help.

Thank you so much! I would like the census look up. The John E. Hill you have noted as being born in 1890 is too young to be my ggrandfather since my grandmother was born the year (1887) after his marriage to Mattie Byrd. I don't know John Hill or Mattie Byrds parents names. Your help is greatly appreciated.

There was only one Byrd in the 1880 census. a Gertis byrd who lived with another family. There were no Byrd's in the 1870 census.

Could you look for Mattie Byrd's family in the census. She was born in Ashley County according to her obituary probably in the 1860 time frame. I don't think any of these Hill's from the 1870 census was my ggrandfather's family since the ages of the John's in the family's are wrong. It's possible he was from another county origianlly, something I'll have to check into. Thank you so much, I appreciate all your help.

John E. Hill was married on Jan 21, 1871 not born. He also married on July 11, 1886 to mattie byrd.

I would like for you to check for a marriage licenses for Hamilton Stinson and Samanthe Peden 1868or69 They are on the 1870census (old Extra area)Samanthe is my great grandmother,Peden was a married name for her.I think her name could have been Davis,That was my grandfathers middle name.I am at a brick wall with her.If this helps,they had a daughter named Emma and she married a Will Bain.
