Hello. Contact the Grand Prairie Historical Society that has an address at the opening of this site. They are at Stuttgart and have really good name. I am a member but the mailing address seems to keep changing as to whomever is the secretary of the day.
I believe the Stuttgart Library should be able to give you some contact information. Their number is 870-673-1966.
I have been told that a lady named Martha Pierce is there and works someway with genealogy groups, so she may be your best bet.
Or try the Museum of the Ar. Grand Prairie at 870-673-7001 and ask who can help.
As far as the man serving in the Civil War, try posting in the Arkansas Civil War site ran by a man named Jim Martin.
There are some people who post there that are truly history people and know a lot about the Civil War. The Gerdes site which is available through that Arkansas site lists all the men from Arkansas who served at that time.
Good luck.
Linda
