Where is Prairie Township?

Can anyone tell me where Prairie Township is located? My 4th gr grandfather John Carr was there in the 1850s. He applied for a land bounty in 1853. He received 40 acres. He applied for a second land bounty in 1855. He applied for 120 acres but I don't know if he ever received it. His bounty was for service in the Cherokee Removal, 1838. He lived in Jackson County, AL from about 1820 until about 1852. Thanks for any help!
