CARTER Grover Allen
Grover Allen Carter, of Mesa, AZ, passed away on May 22, 2007, at the age of 86. He was born in Toledo, OH, on September 24, 1920, to Arthur and Ruth Carter. Grover, a veteran with the US Navy during WWII, served on the Danabola, Bear and Otter, was an active member of the American Legion #27, the Loyal Order of Moose #2028 as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone Company in 1982 after 37 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Carter; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dan Coon of Mesa, Ruth and Mark Zaccaria of Rhode Island and Barbara Carter of Utah; sisters, Gladys McPherson, Vivian Jaquay, Caroline Douhan, Betty Carpenter, and brother, Norman Carter; grandchildren, Anissa Stringer, Corrine Smith, Daniel Coon, Anthony, Aaron and Jo Anna,Adam and April Zaccaria, Katherine Axiel; great- granddaughter, Jessica Stringer and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26 from 12-1 p.m. with a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Mariposa Gardens Cemetery Chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa. (480) 830-4422.
