Ketchikan Daily News online reports an obituary for Martah Virginia Carle in their 2007 archives, but these are only available to subscribers. Might anyone have a subscription and be able to access this online obituary for me? So appreciate any assistance you are able to provide. Her SSDI entry is below:

Martha Virginia Carle
Martha Virginia Carle, 64, died in Hydaburg Jan. 28, 2007.
She was born Martha Virginia Skultka on March 14, 1942, in Ketchikan to Bonnie McCloud and Ray Sanderson and was adopted as a baby by David and Ethel Skultka. She attended Mt. Edgecombe High School.

She married Francis Carle Sr. on April 22, 1960, and moved to Hydaburg in 1964.

Her family said she described her occupation as "Admiral of the Haida Maid and domestic goddess." She attended Hydaburg Presbyterian Church and was associated with the Alaska Native Sisterhood Camp 6, the Haida Corp., Sealaska Corp., Tlingit and Haida tribes, the Haida Nation and Hydaburg Cooperative Association.

She liked fishing, knitting, crossword puzzles and pow-wows She also loved all her grandchildren and having family and friends stop by to visit, her family writes.

Mrs. Carle was preceded in death by her biological parents and adoptive parents; brother, Kennith Jackson; and son, Francis Carle Jr.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Maryanna Grant and Bonnie Carle; sons, Richard Carle, Robert Carle and Donald Carle; brothers, Charlie Skultka, Jim Bell, John Bell, Peter Burr and John Burr; sisters, Mary Morris, Lena Guthrie, Sandy Johnston and Dovie Washington; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Leona Skultka, Charmine Bell, Roger Johnston and Paul Washington; 22 grandchildren, including "number one grandchild" Shanteh Carle; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

A service will be held Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at noon at the Hydaburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at the Hydaburg Cemetery. Ketchikan Mortuary is handling arrangements.
