There was a Catholic orphanage in Juneau (might still be there)which was run by the Catholic Church. You can contact the Diocese of Juneau, www.dioceseofjuneau.org/deacon about the orphanage records.

You'll also find limited orphanage records when the U.S. Census was taken in 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930.

Was Howard Hazel's maiden or married name? I did some looking but the only Hazel Howard that I found was b. abt. 1888 and died 5 Sept. 1967, Flathead Co., Montana. Flathead Co. was where she lived too.
