Stephen J Seats d 12 June 1863 as a member of the 37th Alabama Infantry Co B. He is buried in Grave 11 in Vicksburg at the City Cemetery. The Seats famiy was in Tallapoosa in 1840 and in Chambers Co in 1850. The father is variously listed as "Shugus" "Sugar" and other various spellings. He was in Troup Co GA in 1830 and married a Gibbons. Stephen's sister Susan R Seats married a William Arnold Moore in TX. Seats is listed as "Sheets" Seets and other oddly spelled names.
