Does anyone have information on James M. Russell of Tallapoosa County circa 1861? He was apparently a preacher of some note and attempted to raise a company of cavalry for the C.S.A. about August and September of 1861. I have been unable to find any records on this gentleman and would dearly love to hear from someone who can clear up who he was and what happened to him during the war.
