Researching the family and descendants of John MORRIS b. 1760-1770 posibly Spartanburg Co., SC area, m. about 1797 Spartanburg Co., SC, Rebecca LEWIS, dau. of David LEWIS Jr. and his 2nd wife Elizabeth L0CKHART. They moved from Spartanburg to Cahawba (Bibb Coo., AL before Mar 1820. They moved from Bibb Co. after the 1840 census to Coosa Co. John d. in Coosa in 1845. By 1850 his widow and children, Bayless MORRIS, dau. Rebacca MORRIS and her husband Jacob JOHNSON, had moved to Talladega Co. and were in the 1850 and 1860 censuses of Talladega Co. I will share research.

Sorry, but your Morris family in Talladega is not connected to my MORRIS family. I have no information on your family.

Hi Chester:This is a long shot. I am seeking a Morris Lewis born abt.1770, died abt. 1824 Patrick Co. VA. Had 4 children: Elias, Andrew (my 4G-Grandfather), Noah, Margaret. Known surnames descendants married into were Lockhard, Moore, Whitt, Kelly, Blankenship. Had Native American ancestory. Have you checked Lewis books, "In Search of Jordan Lewis by DNA," by Doris Moody Lewis and Katherine M. Corley. It covers the Lewis family' early days in Bulloch Co. GA and the hunt for Jordan Lewis with Y-DNA.
