Looking for information about daughter of George & Annie Smith of St. Clair County. She is listed as Leila Smith in 1900 census with her parents in Branchville; as Leallie Lenier with her parents and a son, George D. Lenier in 1910 in Oldtown. In 1917 she married George Merideth and they were living in St. Clair County in 1920 & 1930 in Friendship. WW I Draft Registration for George lists his full name as George Dewey Lanier.

There is also a marriage record in 1897 for Theodocia Smith and Thomas J. Lanier in Branchville. That bond was signed by a George Smith. The above George Smith lived in Branchville in 1900 so seems like a good possibility to be Theodocia's father. Theodocia and Thomas J. Lanier had one child and by 1910 she and the child were no longer with him. The Lanier daughter and grandchild with George Smith in 1910 look like a good possibility but the daughters name difference (Theodocia/Leila) makes it questionable.

Any information about this family would be appreciated.
