Dean,
Sorry to have to contact your via this board, but I was looking over my Westmoreland Co. PA material and saw that I had posted a message to you on that board regarding William Nichols and Eliza Freeman. There was no reply on the board from you. Did you perhaps reply to me privately? Some of my older emails are missing so I wasn't able to check. Also, since I am not an ancestry.com member I couldn't use their reply system.
My husband is descended from the above couple through the marriage of William Nichols descendant Ralph Nichols marriage to Zeta Truxall, all of Westmoreland Co. My husband and his father are planning a trip to Westmoreland Co. this fall and I am trying to complete the family tree and find them family-related places to visit while they are there.
One thing I was curious about is whether or not any of the Nichols served in the Civil War. William would have been the correct age to serve, but when I checked the Soldiers and Sailors system there are 30 William Nichols for PA regiments.
Also, have you found the ancestors of William? I have information on Eliza Freeman's ancestors and am willing to share.
Thanks,
Barbara McDonald
