Valerie thanks for the response. Yes, I think James R Freeman is the father of Ezekiel. My problem is that I keep trying to connect Mintora/Mintory Mitchell b 1867 with a James Freeman.
Years ago I corresponded and visited a couple in Montgomery. They were Jep S Mitchell and wife Juanita. He sent me everything they had compiled on David Daniel Mitchell. They said that Mintory m1 a Jim Freeman and m2 a James Jeter.They said she had a son "Zeke". If she is the mother she would have only been about 14 years old. Possible but maybe not likely. As I cannot find a marriage for her to either a Freeman or a Jeter perhaps she married neither but had "Zeke" without benefit of a marriage. As you can see in the second message I posted I have never been able to find her after 1880 when she was listed with Oren D Fomby and Sarah Jane Mackey Mitchell Fomby as a 12 year old. She was the last child of D D Mitchell and the only one I do not have a definite marriage for or death. Jep said she died in GA about 1950. I do thank you for the information on James R Freeman. Ezekiel is his son but just who his "wife" was is a mystery. There was another "Mintory" Mitchell but b abt 1875 to a Green Mitchell. Jep S Mitchell was a descendant of Henry Fred Mitchell son of Margaret Mitchell (Eldon Flint Mitchell line) and Ephriam Jefferson Mitchell ( D D's son) who did not marry Margaret. Roma Craft Mitchell also contributed a lot of material to me about the Mitchells. Do you think Eldon and D D Mitchell were kin? More questions than answers. That is what keeps me interested.
