I am looking for my great-grandmother who was a Cherokee Indian(Name Unknown). My great-grandfather, Peter Larson Green was born in 1799 and died about 1881. He had three families. The first was by Mary Frances Jones born about 1795. He lived with her from marriage 21 March 1818 until she died in 1875. He was a slave owner and is listed in the 1860 Slave Census with his slave Tempy Hiflin and his son Charles Wesley Green. She was 44 years old and Charles Wesley was 16 years old and listed as a Mullato. His third family was by my Cherokee Great-Grandmother. (Name unknown). His first child by her was Mary Frances Seymour Green, born 17 june 1870 and died 27 august 1960. His second child was Captain Gideon Green, born may 1874 and died 31 may 1958. His third was my grandmother, Martha Isabell Owen Green, born 14 may 1877, died 25 jan 1958. My great-grandfather was 71 years old when Mary Frances was born, 75 when Captain Gideon was born and 78 when when Martha Isabell was born. Peter died about 1881 leaving his Cherokee Mistress and three small children. They tried to go back to the Cherokee but were rejected, so she sought shelter with the only friends she had who were ex-slaves. She befriended a black man, who she later broke up with on bad terms. She later began to see another Black man and became pregnant by him. The first black man and his brother heard of this and went to their house in Lounia, Randolph County Al. They killed her and the baby. They told him that because he loved them so much that they were going to let him live in his misery for the rest of his life. This could have happened between 1882 and 1890. I cannot find any thing that was published about this. I Heard the story that two black man were hung by the local whites. The Randolph County Courthouse burned in 1896. My tree name is Andrew Mitchell Owen and I am Allen Milton Owen his son. The tree is public and has all dates and sources. I would like to know my great-grandmothers name and Peter Larson Green's father and mother. I have been looking for three years. Please help Allen Milton Owen.
