There was a J.F. Strickland born in Pickens County, AL. in 1861. He was known as COL. J.F. Strickland and moved to Texas and became a legend as founder and first President of the Texas Power and Light Company. He lived in Waxahatchie, TX. and died May 21,1921.His home is on the list of National Historic Sites. I am of direct Strickland lineage from Pickens County but this person is not in my line. I am trying to find this J.F. Strickland for a friend. Thank you.
