John Walthall is buried there with his wife. Does anyone know if there are others buried at that location. Joseph G. Foushee was his overseer in 1860, but died 1869 about the same time as did John Walthall. Is Joseph Foushee there too.
thanks,
Jeff Thomson

There are a lot of old graves at St Wilfreds. There is one section that has manbe 100 Union Soldiers buried here also since there was a Hospital in Marion during the Civil War for both the CSA and USA soldiers

I have a list of surnames for Perry county giving you the names of the cemeteries that these families are buried in.
I looked and did not find the name Foushee on the list. St Wilfrid's was the only cemetery listed for the Walthalls. I also have a listing for most of the cemeteries...I looked at St.Wilfred's and there are quite a number of Walthalls buried there but again I did not see a Foushee on that list either.

Hi,
There was a CSA hospital at Marion. Any union men would have been moved to a National Cemetery after the war so likely the graves are Confederate soldiers that died there.
regards,
Jeff

Thanks Lynda,
Sometimes the spelling was not Foushee, but Foshee, Faushie as shown in the census records. Well Joseph Foushee had an admistrator name WM Herndon who is buried at Newbern Cemetery in Hale co so maybe that is the correct place and Joseph lived only a few miles from there. Joseph's son Lawrence is buried at Uniontown Cemetery as are most of my other family from there. Shannons, Braswells. A very well kept cemetery.
