I'm looking for information about the parents of Henry Herbert Hinds, Sr. and Mary Ethel Davis, who married in Montgomery and gave birth to my grandfather, Henry Herbert Hinds, Jr. Henry Herbert Hinds, Jr., married my grandmother, Jean Spencer, who worked with the Senate in Montgomery for most of her life. If anyone has any information at all regarding my ancestry, please email me! Thank you!

Henry Herbert Hinds, Sr. and my paternal grandmother were brother and sister. I knew your great grandparents as Uncle Hub and Aunt Etty. I am just now responding to your query as I am new to genealogy and computers. Was so excited to see your query that I tried to e-mail you directly, but your address has apparently changed. I have information on two previous generations if you need it. Would enjoy hearing from you.

Hi
I am currently doing research on the Hinds family--
specifically Austin Montgomery Hinds (1863-1945) and his parents. If you have anything about this family, I certainly would appreciate the information.
Thanks,
DPeevy

No. These Hinds' were in Montgomery, Lowndes. and Crenshaw counties in the area where these counties come together. The first Hinds was the family of Moses Hinds which came into this area shortly after 1830. They came from Marion County, SC.

If your family connects to Marion County, SC, please let me know as I am at a dead end with Moses

Hi
My grandfather, Alfred Luther Hinds Sr., and your great-grandfather were brothers. I have listed the family under my family name of Clemons on Ancestry.com. Austin Montgomery Hinds is Alfred and Herbert's Father. I may have found a line all the way back to John Alden who came to this country on the Mayflower.
You can also look up on line the book"History and Genealogy of the Hinds Family" by Albert Henry Hinds 1899.
My Grandmother was Johnnie Hinds who your Mother used to come to visit in Cullman--I lived next door.
My email is: dpeevy@windstream.net
Good luck--Dinah Peevy

This is amazing!!
My grandfather was Alfred Luther Hinds---Uncle Herbert's older brother.
I have been researching the family for quite sometime--have hit a dead in linking Alfred and Herbert's grandfather Alfred Luther Hinds who died in 1865 to his father.
Any information would be great.
Thanks--
Dinah
