Looking for information about the family of Jessee G. JONES and Julia (ADAMS) JONES who appear in 1850 Montgomery Co., AL, census, and in subsequent censuses. According to census, Jessee was 27, Julia was 22, and both were b. NC. The children were Jason, 5, Emily, 3, and Zerry (sic), 1, all born AL. Though "Zerry" is reported as male, I believe that this is my gg-grandmother Zeruiah/Zerah JONES who m. John Caffey SPEAR ca 1870, Montgomery, AL; family lore says that Zerah's mother and father were Julia ADAMS and Jesse JONES. Montgomery Co. records show a Zeruiah JONES of the right age to be Jessee's sister marrying a John B. POWELL, and in 1850, Jessee lived next door to a George POWELL, 58, b. GA.
