Edited post:

I'm trying to help a biological distant "cousin" (exact relationship unknown, but match made by DNA test) locate her biological father that she never knew.
Our DNA tests matched us together and as she has Ashkenazi Jews on her mom's side & I have NONE anywhere in my family, we know that I must match to her bio father.

Her mother, Rose WEISS, an Ashkenazi Jew from NY b/ 1913, met her (alleged) father, Larry MOORE "of Alabama," believed to be from Montgomery, ca 1945 in Miami Beach, FL where he was stationed. He was probably ARMY.

He had blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin, was known or assumed to be "Irish or Scandinavian" and Christian. His age or birthdate is not known, but is thought to be close to the mother's age, so b/ ca 1913 also. He may have been a smoker.

Presumably he never knew he ever had a daughter, who was born in Jan. 1947 in NY. As she was orphaned at a young age, with no siblings, and though he is probably long deceased by now, she is hoping to find ANY information as to his identity, no matter how small (or even if a long-shot - we might can research it to rule him in or out) and it'd be great if she could find a biological half sibling or niece of nephew.

As I don't have any known Larry Moore nor direct line Moores, though I am from Alabama, we don't have any other viable leads that would help to track down his identity other than what we have here.

I have identified the most probable (and thus far only reasonable) candidate:
Larry Moore b/ 10 May 1911, MS (per 1930 Montgomery, AL census),
d/11 Feb 1972, Montgomery, AL bur/ Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, AL.
He enlisted in the Army on 25 Jun 1942, Camp Blanding, FL & was listed as "separated, no dependents" 68", 163 pounds. He was "released" from the army on 27 Nov. 1945.

IF this is the same man, in 1930 he was 17, single living in Montgomery, AL with a GLINN family (Ancestry transcription reads FLINN) as a "lodger." His birth place as MS, and both parents born in MS. He is not living with known family. His occupation was "soda dispenser" for "tea room."

I have not found him in 1920 (probably MS and with parents) or 1940 census.
I also have not found a marriage record for the wife in / before 1942. I have also not located a 1972 obituary notice for this candidate on Ancestry or elsewhere online to name any relatives / descendants.

His grave per FindAGrave is a footstone with full birth & death dates, name only as Larry Moore, with no mention of military, but matches the dates from this man's enlistment. There is no indication of an obvious wife, parents, or children, but there are about 85-90 other Moores buried in the same cemetery. Many do not list relationships and I do not know if or which are buried near him.

Have not yet tried to contact the cemetery for more information on any buried nearby or a relative / survivor who paid for the marker.

Anything beyond the above records & information will be most appreciated.
I would really love especially to find a relative!

Thanks

Briana
