Hi Ruby, thanks for your response so quickly. The Amos thames/Tims that you refer to is not the Amos that I believe to be my gggGdf who m Elizabeth Plummer 12 Jan 1807 in Cumberland NC. I am curious about the Elizabeth who m Neil Beard, can you give a little info on that? The Thames on your list in Edom Cem that belong to my ancestors are:J Edgar -son of my guncle (s/o Daniel Thames and wife Mary Lou)Daniel was son of Thomas Taylor Thames Sr.
J.J. - son of Thomas Taylor Sr
Mary L. - wf of Daniel above
Sarah A. - wife of Thomas Taylor Thames Sr
T.T. - Thomas Taylor Thames Sr.
W. A. - son of Thomas Taylor Thames Sr.
The other Thames from Annie B on down other than those I mentioned above are members of the John W. Thames family.
John W. Thames m Nancy Elizabeth Temples in Randolph Co Ga (where my Thomas Taylor was married). This family and my Thomas Taylor lived next to each other in Miss. Thomas Taylor Thames Sr lived in Newton Co and John W. Thames family lived in Lauderdale Co however they lived just across a river which was the border between the two counties. Both Thomas Taylor and John W. families left Miss and moved to Van Zandt Co Tx in 1867 and again lived by each other. I believe Sarah and nancy to be sisters or cousins but have not been able to verify this. I also believe Thomas Taylor and John W. to be brothers but have not been able to verify that either. The oldest son of John W. was named Amos Felder Thames and m Sally Longmire there in Van Zandt Co. Amos Felder died in 1903 and is buried a Cem in the town of Canton. His kids became Orphans as his wife did not want to or could not take care of them. Maybe you may know something about this fmily or could find out something about this family. I have corresponded with a family which is a descendent of the oldest Dau (Sallie L) who now lives in Denton Tx, but they don't know too much. Lets keep in touch and maybe we can discover more about these families. paul thames
