I'm looking for the parents of William Louis Dunn b. 1828 Alabama. He married twice, the 2nd time to Arrilla Angeline Jennings (d/o Elisha Jennings). In 1850, there is a Daniel Dunn, b. 1831 AL; Ellener (his mother?)b. 1801,SC; William, b. 1828 AL; Catherine, b. 1790 SC (paternal grandmother?)and Martha, b. 1830 b.AL. Does anybody know this family? Is this William the same William L, who shows up in 1860 Guntersville,Marshall Co,ALA? In 1850, it shows him as "insane", which makes me wonder how he married in 1854 and apparently functioned normally for years. If anyone knows about this family in the 1850 census or if you know about Wm.Louis Dunn, please contact me. Recent DNA tests done on a descendant of Wm.Louis are showing a Jewish background, which does not fit with the Dunns nor any of his matches, so Dunn may not have been the original surname.
