MAHALIA CAROLINE lived in Marion County, AL and was married to HAMILTON C. REID. She may have used her middle name more than Mahala because she is listed on the censuses that way. She was supposed to have been born in Georgia (according to census taker). She was born about 1831 and married Hamilton C. Reid shortly after the 1850 census. She died about 1894. Mahala and Hamilton are buried side by side in the Cemetery beside the Shottsville Methodist Church.
