Hi, I am doing some research for a descendent of Morning Dove, and came across this thread. The "Powell" surname got my attention.
My Great grandfather William Andy Parker married (his 2nd wife) Pearl Powell around 1915 in Tuscaloosa Co, al.
My Daddy remembers Pearl being Am. Indian, but he was "sure" she was Choctaw. I haven't ever been able to find proof of that.
Were any of the Powells listed above Cherokee, by chance? Daddy just may have had the wrong nation.
