Hello,

The head of my Perkins family is a George Perkins who was born in 1782. He would have been born in either NC or GA. I am trying to connect him to the Perkins family or families that migrated through the Dallas/Marengo/Wilcox/Sumter Counties of AL, beginning about the end of W. of 1812 until about the Civil War era.

George was married to Elizabeth Wynn in 1809 in Rockingham on the Pee Dee ( River) which is Richmond County. He found his way to TN and enlisted in a TN Militia unit for 6 months. Their first child was John W(ynn?) Perkins born sometime 1810. Other children were another son William C?, and 5 daugters, Keziah, Rachael, Mary ( Polly) Nancy and Rebecca ( who is my line).

Research shows a William C. married a Sarah Hendrick ( or Hendrix) from SC b. 1825 in Mobile, AL. It appears that same William enlisted in the army about 1855, stating he was born in MarengoCo in 1821, hes stationed in a Texas army camp. He was a TALL man for the time, about 6 foot 3 inches, with a ruddy complexion.

Anyone researching the Perkins families where passed through the area? I am trying to place this William somewhere. He either is a son of my George or George is related to the other Perkins men. Do any of your Perkins travel through RichmondCo, NC and perhaps find their way to TN>

I have extensive work on George and kids, just dont have him connected to the right Perkins family. Would love to know PARENTS and siblings. My best bet is these Perkins in Marengo in the 1820s.

Anyone know them??
