My Carters go back to Samuel Carter who is in the 1850 Marengo County census. He is my ggggrandfather, and his son Edwin "Lonnie" had a son William Walton Carter who ended up living in Bossier Parish, LA, and who was my ggrandfather. William Walton married Lillian Aleta Stinson. I'm not sure, but I may have Glovers also in Marengo County. I'm still trying to attach the ancestors I'm sure of to some specific family. I also have info on the Poellnitz family if that is helpful to someone.
