Does anyone know who Lemuel Cobb is on the 1880 Census of Madison County? I found a website that lists his offspring at www.couchgenweb.com/family/cobb.htm. He was born in Georgia in 1830, both his parents were born in SC according to the census. He married Sarah C Johnson and they had 8 children: Raeana? b. 1855, John William b. 1856, William A b. 1859, Mary Emma b. 1863, S L b. 1866, R E b. 1869, Thomas Jefferson b. 1871, and Joseph K b. 1872.

How does he fit in with the other Cobbs in the area at that time? Any help would be appreciated.
