I am looking for any Womble family members who descended from James Womble and Joanna Warren Womble who settled in Bedford Co. TN in the early 1820's.
My gggrandfather, John D. Womble, was living in Hazel Green in 1880. He was there until at least 1883 when his wife died. He was a railroad worker. There were also members of Catherine Thompson Womble's (his wife) family living close by..
John D. was the son of Cornelius Womble, and the grandson of James Womble.
John D. had a son, William Womble, who bought some property in 1915 in New Market, in the Charity Road/Lane area..story is this was his old home place.
John D. died in TN in 1927. William died in TN in 1944..both in Giles Co.
