Hi all,
I am looking for someone with a connection to a Thomas Lankford abt 1810 in Madison Co.At the time Thomas lived there was his brother's or relative Benjamin,and Robert,and possible Stephen living there?. Trying to find anyone with info on these Lankford's. Is this the same Thomas Lankford who was in Marison Co TN as of 1812,and Warren Co TN as of 1820's?.

Roy, I am looking for the same Lankfords and hope that you might have more information, now a year later.

I am working back from a Mrs. B/R Lankford, Union Parish, LA with sons Charles and Peter. The 1850 census shows Mrs. B or R 60 years old, born NC. Charles 28 born AL and Peter 30 AL as well.

The Alabama location is Madison Co AL, I hope. Prior to that, in late 1700's there were 4 Lankfords in Rutherford NC: Thomas, Robert, Peter and Stephen - presumed relationship is brothers.

Going back to Charles B 1822 in Alabama, he remained in Union Parish til death, and is my husband's gggrandfather.
His wife was Mary Peak/Peck, also in Union Parish at same time, as well as Dicksons(friends) and Coxes, who later married into the Lankford family.

I have mainly worked with census records for these people, as I had been concentrating on the St. Clair AL Lankfords, that I now know are no relation.

About the only thing that I've found is I believe that my GGGfather Thomas L-ford was brn abt 1778/80 either in Surry/Stokes/Rutherford Co NC,and was in Warren/Marion Co TN as of 1820's,married to a Shawnee lady named Phebe/Pheobe
I also believe that he was in Madison Co AL before 1810,and in Marion Co TN abt 1812,and very possible his father also named Thomas was with him. his father I believe was a Merchant/Indian Trader in Surry Co NC abt 1760/80's.
Thomas # 2 had sons Vachel L-ford brn abt 1804 White/Smith/Jackson/Overton Co NC,and my GGfather Silas L-ford brn abt 1812 in that same area of TN. Vachel was in Dekalb Co AL abt 1831,and some of his sons went into LA,and east TX. My GGfather Silas married Mary Seitz/Sitz/Sides/
,and lived in Dekalb/Etowah Co AL abt 1850's/1890's. I believe that Vach had a son who married a Choctaw lady,nad went into AR,and OK. I do know some of my L-fords were in Angelina Co TX.
