My ggg grandfather is Elisha C Mitchell b 1817 in KY.
My grandfather found in the Orphans Court Records of Madison County,AL where Elisha's father (William) was deceased & Archibald Ford was granted guardianship because he was under 14 on 31 Jan, 1827.
Does anyone have any information on William or know who Arichibald Ford is? I also do not know who Elisha's mother was.
Any help would be appreciated, as this has been a brick wall for me for years!!
