Searching for the names of the children of Thomas McKinney, born about 1782, died after 1860, Clouds Cove, New Hope Township, Madison County, Alabama; his wife was Jane Sharp, born about 1788-89, possible in Roane County, Tennessee, died after 1860, Clouds Cove.

They were married in Roane County, Tennessee, on 23 July 1804.

Had a large family. Some of the possible children were:
Elizabeth married William G. Blake; Polly married Abraham Gann; David; John married Edy; James E., married Mary A.; Jane married Elijah Howard, and probably other daughters, such as Matilda married John Stewart; and Hester.

In the 1830 census, Roane County, Tennessee, they had at least seven daughter still living at home. And one male at that time.

In the 1850 census in Madison County, there are three unknown children, born from 1832 to 1837 who are probably grandchildren, Thomas A., Louisa, and Margaret.

Thomas A. may be Thomas Albert, born about 1832, died 8 September 1866, Lincoln County, Tennessee, married Laura Mary Johnson. Their children were: James M., Salasita or Celesta; George; Thomas E., and Albert.

There is another Louisa Mckinney who married Dickson Cobb in 1850 and is listed in 1850 census in his household (listed in census as Richard Cobb). She is 19 in that census. Some have said she is a child of Thomas and Jane. If true, Jane would have been 42-43 years old when she was born. The 15 year old Louisa in Thomas and Jane's 1850 household would then be a granddaughter. Louisa and Dickson's first daughter, born in 1852 was named Bettie Jane, perhaps after her mother Jane. She also named a child James and another Margaret, names in Thomas and Jane's household.

I show this Thomas and Jane in the 1860 Census. Living with them is a George Parker 13yrs old. Next door is another McKinney family - Thomas and Laura - probably a grandson. I believe this is the family that you had mentioned. I am looking for information on the George Parker that was living with them.
