My gggrandmother Elizabeth Jane Stewart who married William McBride Jackson, was born in Benton, Lowndes Co., or Kennison, Coosa Co., AL. B. 9-7-1825, d. 7-13-1899, buried in Alex City Cemetery. Her father was Joab Stewart and mother Eliza Smith. History writes that she narrowly escaped being killed by Indians as a child. Even as much as having a tomahawk over her head. Her teacher and his wife were killed. Searching for any information on Elizabeth Jane Stewart Jackson, her parents, of siblings.
