(T-623,Roll-26,page-176) She was listed as widowed. I don't think she would have owned any property. She had a son named William living with her.

UPDATE: It appears that the William Davidson (born circa-1789) who was in Limestone in 1840 and 1850, and who was Josiah Davidson's likely relative, was married to a Nancy Unknown. The much older William Davidson in Limestone in 1850 (shown on the 1850 census as age 95...he was NOT related to Josiah Davidson) was apparently the one who was married to Nancy Albright (and by 1850, this older William Davidson was married to his second wife, as shown on the census).

It appears that the younger William Davidson (born circa-1789) who was in Limestone in 1840 and 1850 was not Josiah's brother, but he was more likely a cousin (and PROBABLY a son of the Edward Davidson who was an uncle of Josiah Davidson). That Edward Davidson had a son named William who appeared on the Buckingham Co., VA census in 1830, but that William Davidson "disappeared" from Buckingham after that (so he very well could have been in Limestone Co., AL in 1840 and 1850...and the age looks "perfect" for this man in Limestone to have been him).

Note: The Josiah Davidson in Limestone had a brother who was named William T. Davidson, but that brother was still in Buckingham Co., VA when he died, sometime after 1850.

In addition to the above, there was what appears to have been yet another William Davidson who was on the 1830 and 1840 Limestone census (shown as age 60-70 in 1840). I SUSPECT (albeit, no proof) that the Ezekiel Davidson who was on the 1830 Limestone census only was a son or other close relative of this William Davidson.....ditto the William M. Davidson and the Willis Davidson who were also on the 1840 Limestone census. Based on a lot of research, I suspect that these men were also related to Josiah Davidson.

Note: DNA testing on living male Davidsons has shown that that the overall Davidson family of the above Josiah Davidson was/is not related to the family of the "oldest" William Davidson referenced above (i.e., the one who was age 95 in 1850). Josiah Davidson's overall family is represented by "Family 10" on the Davidson/Davison/Davisson DNA website, and the overall family of the "oldest William Davidson is represented by "Family 3." www.davidsongenes.org

I am seeking information regarding a John Henderson Neely and Dollie Darcus Ball Neely descendant, Joe Ella Neely, who may or may not have married Andrew Travis (A. T.) "Jack" Speight. Together they had a daughter, Eva Irene Speight in 1919.

A.T. Speight was a widower with two sons, Claude and Clyde when he relocated to Slough, Limestone, AL after his first wife, Louella Hutcheson Speight, died around 1911.

It is also my understanding that the Neelys and A.T. Speight are buried in Round Island Cemetery.

Any confirmation or other information regarding these individuals would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Christine Callesen

Thank you so much for responding so quickly! Irene was my Great Aunt, Clide was my Great Uncle. Her half brother, Claude Speight, was my maternal grandfather. Up until just recently I was completely stumped regarding the Speight side of my family. I knew my greatgrandfather's first wife died and I knew my grandfather had a half sister named Irene, but that was about it. Only recently have I pieced together how the Neely's fit in. I have just begun corresponding with Marie M (Irene's first husband's sister). She has shared my letters and photos I mailed to her with both of Irene's daughters. My mother and dad visited with Irene while they were traveling through Alabama. My mom passed away a few years ago and we lost touch with Irene's family. I came across Irene's funeral notice while visiting my dad recently which led to my writing to Marie. I know this is a convulted story, but that is how I am related to Irene!

Hello,
You sent me a message about Abner Flannagan, but since you have chosen not to receive messages on Ancestry's system, I can't reply there.

I work on the Miles family. Abner's brother, Gideon Flannigan, married Eliza Ann Cox 8 Dec 1851 Limestone Co., Alabama. Eliza was the daughter of John M. Cox and Jane Miles, daughter of William Hardy Miles and Martha Powell, my gr-gr-gr grandparents.

The Flannagan family has connections both to Limestone Co., Alabama and Fluvanna Co., VA. Another family that I work on, also connected to the Miles family, came from Fluvanna Co., VA...the Appleburys or Appleberrys. John Alloway Strange, father of Abner, father of Martha (Strange) Flannagan died in Fluvanna as did James Winwright Flannagan. I have wondered if there were more connections.

I don't have pictures, but would be glad to try to find something if you have something specific you're looking for.

Pat Ruiz
patruiz42@hotmail.com

I'm from the Rufus branch. His daughter, Mattie Lee, was my great-grandmother. She had a son, Lawrence Lee Brown who married Katherine Hargrove. Their son, Billy Lee Brown, is my father.
I know what you mean abt having something to hide. I can't find them either.

Looking back in these posts and was wondering if any more info is available on the Delmores. Molly was sister to husband's grandfather. My email has changed. lswil@nehp.net
Thanks, Sarah
