I am looking for the location of Nubbin or Nubin Ridge in Limestone Co. I don't know if this is a town, community, or plantation name. I have letters from Isaac Delony written from there during the War. I believe the Delony home was there from 1815 until the family moved to Ark in the 1860s. I'm trying to find out the circumstances (questionable) under which they moved. I will be glad to share Delony letters and information with anyone who is interested.

In the 1950's Nubbin Ridge was still the name applied to an area east of the county line road between Mooresville and French's Mill, near Athens. The ridge itself crosses that road a few miles north of Belle Mina, as I recall.

Since this was fifty years ago, I may be confusing Nubbin Ridge with Dogwood Flats here, so you probably should contact Faye Axton or Eva McLin at the Limestone County Historical Association in Athens, AL

Dana,

Did you ever find out the circumstances under which the Delonys/DeLoneys moved from Alabama to Arkansas around 1850-1860? I have some information. I am writing from Marj Holt's email, but you can email me at
