Thomasberry Greenhaw, son of Golesberry (Goolsberry) and Jacksy (Carmody) Greenhaw, was born in Alabama about 1841.
I saw a marriage certificate for him at the Florence Public Library in Sept. 1989. I am right sure it said he married Susannah (Susan) Jane either Brooks or Jones. The first names of the bride is correct, not confirmed on the last or maiden name. I believe that her maiden name could have been Jarrett or Garratt. And know it was either Lauderdale or Limestone County Alabama. I think he later in life remarried again and died in another state, possibly Arkansas. (not confirmed)
The copier at the site was broke that day and they would not allow me to remove the record to have it copied elsewhere and return it. I lived 45 miles away and was sick about 2 weeks afterward. When I finally returned, I could not find the record again.
A Susan Greenhaw is listed in the 1880 census of Limestone County Alabama with children: James, Levi, George, Jasper (my great grandfather) and Daniel. They were all Greenhaws. In 1885 Susan married again to Paul Brady in Lauderdale County Alabama. My great grandfather's brother Daniel Greenhaw, then became a Brady.
Even though all these years since my great grandad passed, on the death certificate of Thomas Jasper Greenhaw, Ausborne Howard Greenhaw is listed as his dad. I don't believe this to be accurate.
Also family history tells that Susan worked for A.H. Greenhaw owner of the Gem Saloon. There was such a place and was advertised in the 1891 Elkmont Advertiser Newspaper, with A. H. Greenhaw (proprietor).
Rumor was my great grandad's dad was known as Uncle Bud, however, Uncle Bud is Ausborn Howard's brother.
Apologies for being so lengthy. and Thanks for any and all postings.
