Neely and Speight Connection

I am seeking information regarding a John Henderson Neely and Dollie Darcus Ball Neely descendant, Joe Ella Neely, who may or may not have married Andrew Travis (A. T.) "Jack" Speight. Together they had a daughter, Eva Irene Speight in 1919.

A.T. Speight was a widower with two sons, Claude and Clyde when he relocated to Slough, Limestone, AL after his first wife, Louella Hutcheson Speight, died around 1911.

It is also my understanding that the Neelys and A.T. Speight are buried in Round Island Cemetery.

Any confirmation or other information regarding these individuals would be appreciated.

Sincerely,
Christine Callesen

3-1-1869---8-31-1947, J.H. Neely 6-16-1839---5-9-1925. There are listed as
being side by side. I knew an Irene who was the neely's granddaughter. She has 2 daughter who still live here in Limestone county. How are you related to Irene.

Thank you so much for responding so quickly! Irene was my Great Aunt, Clide was my Great Uncle. Her half brother, Claude Speight, was my maternal grandfather. Up until just recently I was completely stumped regarding the Speight side of my family. I knew my greatgrandfather's first wife died and I knew my grandfather had a half sister named Irene, but that was about it. Only recently have I pieced together how the Neely's fit in. I have just begun corresponding with Marie M (Irene's first husband's sister). She has shared my letters and photos I mailed to her with both of Irene's daughters. My mother and dad visited with Irene while they were traveling through Alabama. My mom passed away a few years ago and we lost touch with Irene's family. I came across Irene's funeral notice while visiting my dad recently which led to my writing to Marie. I know this is a convulted story, but that is how I am related to Irene!
