Need burial information

I have been told that my grandparents, Ernest Floyd Rooks (died 1936) and Alice Geneva Turner Rooks (died around 1930), may be buried in Rosemere Cemetery in Lee County. I have searched but cannot find the graves. Courthouse and City Hall had no records. I need to know of any other cemeteries in Lee County that I can search. My mother was very young when they died but remembers the cemetery had lots of big rocks. Thanks for any info.

Contact the Museum of East Alabama at 334/749-2751. Operating hours vary, so if you get no answer, try again. They can tell you how to contact the local genealogy society that could benefit your search. With your comment of "all the rocks" sounds like a country cemetery that could be at a country church. Thanks. Sue

Hi Linda

My mom, Bertie Lee Vernel (Rooks) Stubbs, will be giving me pictures of the Rooks. I will post those to a website when I get them, along with birth and death dates for a lot of the Rooks that we know of. Let me know if you find out any details on grandpa Rooks.
