Looking for information on the family/ancestors of John D. Baker, b. Feb 1888, Camden, Tennessee, died 19 Feb 1976 in Opelika, Alabama. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He married Mammie E. and had the following children: William O., Erline, Bertie, Helen, Ernest, Chester, and Hazel, according to the 1930 census. J.D. Baker had one brother, Homer, and a half brother, Wylie Britt Stanley. Homer and Britt changed their names to Stanley early in the 1900s. I am descended from Britt Stanley and I'm trying to find out why the name was changed.

According to his obituary, all of his children were still living, and his daughters had all married, although I can't tell whom married whom. They married: John Windsor of Tallahassee, Florida; Roy Walker of Homestead, Florida; Bill Capps of Opelika, Alabama; and the last daughter, Mrs. Gladys Nowell of Camden, Tennessee.

If anyone can help me contact any of these people, or knows of this family, please help me get in touch. Thanks.
