The farthest back I can reliably go is John J Lyde who married Julia Watt 30 July 1876 in AL. After the Civil War they moved to TX & my information from Julia F Lyde Royal is much firmer. I bet we do tie in, tho exactly where I'm not sure. I've heard my Lyde/Lide family came from NC. I'd be happy to share info.
