I know there are many decendants of the Nathan Byars family.
I am looking for someone who has pictures of my family they could scan and email to me. In particular my grandfather Thomas Commadore Greene Parker and my grandmother was Frances Ada Byars Parker.
Any info would be appreciated. I do have the Union HIll Cemetary list.
Thanks

Would this perhaps be in Tuscaloosa, AL? If so, I would greatly appreciate any info you could pass on. I am decended from Nathan Byars of Granville District, Caswell Co., NC. Samuel Thomas Byars, my gr-grandfather, was buried in AL & I would be interested in knowing if he is on the list you have. He died Jan. 1970 in Elizabethtown, KY & was sent to AL to be buried. Thanks for any info you can give me. Cheryll Dyer (cherdyer@comcast.net)

HI-

I know Sallie and Ada married brothers and twins were in the family.
My mother was a twin. She was born in 1922.
My sister has info on Sallie and I will get it for you.
Her photos were of a very pretty lady. Mother told me that
one of her cousins was murdered from this line. (My mother died in 1992. Was this from Sallie and Johns family?
Is the photo you have a wedding photo of Sallie?

Susan

Oh I wish I had a wedding photo of Sallie. One picture I have is of her and Ed (her husband and your great uncle?). Just yesterday I was searching and found another pictures of Sallie and Ed, from the same sitting, in a collection of pictures held by the US Archives!! In that picture their three oldest children were with them - one of them my grandmother Winnie. I started to cry.

Anyway, yes twins still do run in the family - my uncle is a twin but his brother died at birth. Also, my daughter was a twin but the other didn't survive as well.

If you look at Sallie's children - her son J. Floyd married Alice Gertrude Biddy and they had two sets of twins! I have read that twins run on the mothers side so I guess he just got lucky. lol

My mom says her mom, Merle, and grandma, Winnie, always felt badly for Alice because she had five children under 5 years old in the house and was a farm wife!!

When I was a young woman I went to my grandmother's for Thanksgiving and when I walked in my grandmother startled and dropped the plate. She said I looked so much like Sallie that she couldn't believe it. We have a saying on our side of the family that the husbands' genes have nothing to do with what we look like. lol

Sallie was so pretty that I take it as a great compliment. I have never seen her sister or any of the siblings. Do you have pics you can send me?

re: murder trial

It was Laura Massey and Henry Byars son Isham Eugene that was the murderer and his cousin 4 times removed, Eugene Walker, another gr-great grandson of Old Nathan Byars, that was the victim. So, no, he was not in my direct line, he was an uncle.

My email is foxtocrow@yahoo. We may be talking about the same photos. I have two with Sallie and they are not wedding photos but she is young. I may be confused on the wedding ones. I want to send you these and also of my grandmother Ada Frances Byars and grandfather Thomas Green
Commadore Parker. I believe I was told he added the Commadore himself. The Parker boys had an awful life and lucked up when their father married a woman who was kin to Byars. She didn't stay married long to him and the stepchildren were not treated well as I was told. I also want to send you photos of my mother Ida Loagene and her twin Ada Justine.

I tried to email you but it came back to me. My email is chaosink@aol.com. I would love any pics or info you have.
Ada and I also share a birthday. :)

About the step kids.. who exactly were you talking about? You clearly have more info on this side of the family than I do.

Also, I was wondering if you have been able to get anywhere with the Abraham Nations/ Rebecca Cherokee Indian research?

Laura Massey...(Jane Bailey's mother)...had a grandmother who was a Cherokee Indian. I have never been able to get anywhere with this line of research.

Her name was Rebecca and she was born on Indian Land in NC. Her husband was Abraham Nation b.1742.

Hope to hear from you soon!!

Chandra

I am sending them via email right now.

I have seen the Rebecca who married the Nations but like you only I have seen she was listed as an Indian.
