Carr or Kerr families of Jackson County Alabama

Classification: Query
Surnames: Carr, Kerr, Spence, Taylor, Warren, Dent
My name is Alan Carr, I having been doing research on my family tree. I do not honestly know if I'm on the right track or not, will never know unless I explore all possible avenues.
I have been able to trace my family back to my 4th great grandfather John Carr Birth Abt. 1803 in South Carolina Death Bet. 1860–1870 in Stonefort, Saline, Illinois married to Nancy TAYLOR Birth Abt. 1806 in Kentucky Death Bet. 1870–1880 in Stone County, MO they had six known children Hugh CARR 1822 – 1900, Nancy CARR 1830 – 1913, Charlotte Mary CARR 1838 – 1920, Elihu J CARR 1847 – 1881, Bethena CARR 1848 – ?, George W CARR 1837 – 1863 George is my 3rd great grandfather.

They all lived in Jackson County, Alabama from what I can tell going back to the oldest child's birth in 1822 up to some time in the 1850's before moving to Illinois.
It is believed the Carr family worked their way to Alabama from somewhere in South Carolina, possibly going through Jackson County, Georgia before arriving in Jackson County, Alabama. It is also believed the Carr family traveled with Spence, Warren, Taylor, and Dent family members.

As I have no other information about John Carr who his siblings or parents might be I am guessing John, Claybourn Wiley Carr and Stephen Carr could be brothers or maybe cousins????

Not sure if you can offer any assistance or answers to my search. I do have a public family tree on Ancestry.com feel free to review what I have on here. I often see where people have attached there information to other trees without verifying facts and do so off of assumption only. I want to avoid the same pitfalls. Thank you in advance if you can offer any assistance.
