John GRIFFIN - Born 12 October 1843 in Hener County, Ala. Entered service on 1 March 1862 at Abbeville. In the 37th Alabama Co. A. Captured at Vicksburg, Mississippi 4 July 1863. Re-enlisted at Demopolis, Ala. September 1863. In the 37th Alabama Co. A. Continued until close of the war. Discharged 26 April 1865.
Bryant G. GRIFFIN - Born 1825 in N.C. Entered service 1 February 1865 39th Alabama Co. G. Continued until he surrendered at Greensboro, N.C. 2 May 1865.
Allen W. HAM - Born 29 March 1829 at Crawford, Georgia. Entered service May 1862 at Clayton, Ala. Continued until discharged due to wounds at Laurel Springs, Mississippi. 60 days at Laurel Springs 24 March 1865.
Francis W. HARDY - Born 1842 in Randolph County, Georgia. Entered service 1862 at Abbeville in the 39 Alabama Co. D. Captured at Nashville 10 December 1864. Confined at Camp Douglas Prison, Illinois. Paroled 27 April 1865 and went to the frontier, discharged 1866 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
John HAYWOOD - Born 1825 at Smith, Virginia. Entered service 1862 at Lawrenceville, Ala. in the 37th Alabama Co. A. Continued until close of the war. Discharged at Appalachicola, Florida.
John D. HAY -(Hays?) Born 5 August 1840 in Randolph County, Georgia. Entered service 1 July 1861 at Cuthbert, Georgia in the 13 Georgia Co. E. Paroled at Appomattox Court House at surrender.
James J. HAYES - Born 1825 in Shorterville, Ala. Entered service in 1861 at Albany, Georgia in the 18th Georgia Co. O. Continued until discharged 1865 at Richmond, Virginia.
William M. HARDWICK - Born 4 February 1832 in Jasper County, Georgia. Entered service in 1861 at Cedar Bluff, Ala. In the 7th Alabama Co. H. Participated in the Battle of Corinth. Mustered out the next day. Re-enlisted at Auburn, Ala. in the 48th Alabama Co. H. Captured at Sharpsburg, Maryland , confined in prison at Baltimore. Exchanged and went back to same company and regiment. Captured at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee confined at Johnson Island Prison, Ohio for four months. Paroled April 1865, was made Lieutenant of the 48th Alabama Co. H. three days after the Battle of Manassas and was a Colonel at the close of the war.
James H. HARDWICK - Born 8 April 1841 in Jasper County, Georgia. Entered service 1861 at Eufaula, Ala. in Clark"s Artillery. Continued until the close of the war. Discharged at Meridian, Mississippi May 1865.
Judge I. HARRIS - Born 6 March 1846 in Houston County, Georgia. Entered service 10 March 1864 at Dalton, Georgia in the 45th Alabama Co. K. Continued until wounded in right arm and was sent home and never returned.
Thomas J. HAWKINS - Born 2 August 1829 in Pike County, Ala. Entered service 4 April 1862 at Eufaula, Ala. in the 39th Alabama Co. K. Continued until May 1865. Paroled at Laurel Springs, Mississippi.
Angus HARP - Born 23 September 1833 in Monroe County, Georgia. Entered service in 1862 at West Point, Georgia in the 8th Alabama Co. D. Wounded 22 July 1863. Captured after being wounded 2 July 1863 at Gettysbury, Pennsylvania.
John D. HENDLEY - Born September 1841 Henry County, Ala. Entered service May 1862 at County Line, Henry-Barbour in the 15th Alabama Co. K. Captured at Winchester, Virginia May 1863, transferred to Fort Monroe, exchanged and went back to the company. Captured at Gettysburg 3 July 1863. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland. Paroled and came home, re-enlisted before the war ended.
Joseph Z. HENDLEY - Born 1848 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service 1862 in the 6th Alabama was never mustered in. Came home in three weeks , re-enlisted 1864 in the Montgomery State Troops, Stayed with the State Militia until close of the war.
Thomas H. HICKMAN - Born 1843 at Randolph County, Georgia. Entered service 1861 at Franklin, Henry County, Ala. In the 25th Georgia Co. E. and continued until close of the war. Paroled in Henry County in 1867. Company organized by John Lawson Irwin.
Irvin HIX - Born 10 December 1841 at Abbeville, Henry County, Ala. Entered service 27 May 1861 10th Alabama Co. G. Conyinued until August 1864.
Jordan HOLLAND - Born 4 May 1840 in Edgefield District, S.C. Entered service 1863 at Abbeville in the Lt. Weems Company. Continued until close of the war. Paroled but does not remember the place.
Stephen HERRING - Born 22 July 1836 at Barbour County, Ala. Entered service March 1862 at Clayton, Ala. in Kolb"s Battery, continued six months and discharged at Knoxville, Tennessee. Re-enlisted in January 1863 at Troy, Ala. in the Jeff Davis Legion, Hampton Cavalry and continued until April 1865. Paroled at Greensboro, N.C.
William H. HERRING - Born 21 June 1843 in Hanover County, N.C. Entered service 10 March 1862 at Clintonville, Ala. in the 57th Alabama Co. G. Captured December 1864 at Egypt Station , Mississippi. Paroled in March 1865.
Thomas HODGES - Born 1833 at Dooley County, Georgia. Entered service in 1862 at Tolbert Church, Henry County in the 6th Alabama Co. E. Captured 31 March 1865. Paroled 10 June at Point Lookout Prison, Maryland.
John G. HOLLEY - Born 1 August 1847 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service 1863 at Abbeville in the 6th Alabama Co. E. Continued until the Surrender. Paroled Selma, Alabama 27 May 1865.
Thomas J. HOWERTON - Born 16 June 1848 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service 1864 at Talladega, Ala. in the 6th Alabama Cavalry Clayton Brigade. Continued until 30 March 1865 . Detailed to bring Captain McRae's horses home after he was captured. Never returned. Captain James McRae 1820-1891 of Shorterville, Ala.
John S. HUTTO - Born 25 September 1846 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service 2 July 1862 at Blue Mountain, Ala. in the 6th Alabama Cavalry Co. E. Continued until close of the war. Paroled at Abbeville, Ala. May 1865.
William O. JACKSON - Born 1825 at Macon, Georgia. Entered service 1861 at Columbia, Ala. in the 45th Alabama Co. I. Captured at Baker Creek 1862. Paroled two months later at Fort Delaware. Re-enlisted 1862 in Tennessee. Continued until close of the war. Paroled at Silasbury, N.C.

Isaac JONES - Born 1835 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service at Fort Gaines, Georgia. ?? Georgia Co. E. Continued until close of the war. Discharged just before close of war near Richmond, Virginia.
Benjamin H. JOHNSON - Born 1827 in Warrenton, Warren County, Georgia. Entered service 1862 at Abbeville in the 60th Alabama Co. A. Continued until Surrender. Paroled at Appomattox Court House April 1865.
Cornelious JOHNSON - Born April 1845 in Henry County, Ala. Entered Service 1862 in the 39th Alabama Co. G. Continued until the Surrender. Paroled at Greensboro, N.C. April 1865.
John W. JOHNSON - Born 1840 in Richmond, N.C. Entered service 27 July 1861 at Abbeville in the 15th Alabama Co. G. Continued until this regiment was discharged in 1862. Re-enlisted in the fall of 1862 at Abbeville in the 37th Alabama Co. E. Captured in 1864 at Columbia, Tennessee. Was released 12 June 1865 in Ohio.
Alex T. JOHNSON - Born 1832 at Louisville, Barbour County, Ala. Entered service 27 July 1861 at Abbeville in the 15th Alabama Co. D. Continued until April 1862, transferred to 53rd Alabama Co. E. and remained until close of the war. Paroled at Augusta, Georgia.
Charles S. JOHNS - Born 1831 at Lawrenceville, Georgia. Entered Service 15 April 1861 at Campbellton, Florida in the 4th Florida Co. E. Discharged October 1862. Re-enlisted October 1862 at Ozark, Ala. in the 33rd Alabama Co. E. Continued until close of the war.
William W. KELLY - Born 1842 in Habersham County, Georgia. Entered service in Butler County August 1862 in the 27th Georgia Co. F. Continued until July 1865. Paroled.
Berry KING - Born October 1845 in Henry County, Ala. Entered service October 1862 at County Line (Henry-Barbour) in the 37th Alabama Co. H. Captured February 1865 at Silasbury, N.C. Discharged from prison at Winchester, Virginia June 1865.
