Mrs. Caroline E. Brown, mother of Artemus Ward,died in Waterford on july 12th.. She was born in the same town in September 1806, the daughter of Calvin Farrar. She was married to the late Maj. Levi Brown, and had two sons, Cyrus W. Brown, well known writer and Charles F. Brown, better known as Artemus Ward.

Mrs. Mary Ward, age 54, died Wednesday at the home of her nephew, Charles F. Perry, in Eufaula.

Mrs. Nancy Ward, aged 105, died last Sunday. She was a native of N.C., but lived most of her life in Alabama.

William H. Ward, age 63, died at his home in Henry County on the 6th inst., A member of the Baptist Church nearly 40 years.

Mrs. Winny Ward, age 85, died on the 13th at the home of Mr. Robert Gamble. (Henry County)
