I am trying to find information for the death of Eliza Arnold, wife of Jacob Arnold. He was a German immigrant and a farmer, carpenter and land owner, she was an Irish immigrant who had married previously to a man in Florida named Laborous, Laborus and misspelled in her marriage to Jacob as Labovis in 1841 Alabama. They lived in the Abbeville, Al area and are listed up to the 1880 census there. Her son by the previous marriage, Joseph, born 1840 was killed in the civil war, Petersburg Va, about 1864. Joseph's son by wife unknown was James Laborus, born about 1860 and became publisher of the Spirit of the Age newspaper in Abbeville in the late 1880's. Jacob was my GGFather
