Surnames: Whelan Atkins Trapp
Her name was Adelaide Whelan, born about 1841 in Greensboro, Alabama. She was the daughter of Charles Whelan and Patience Andeline Trapp. Charles and Patience were married in Jones County, Georgia on 10 Nov 1825.
Adelaide was their last child as her mother died on 08 Jul 1842.
Adelaide married Joseph F. Atkins 14 Nov 1859 at Rosemount Mansion, Forkland, AL. They had about 14 children, my wife's grandfather, Stanley, being one of the last.
Adelaide died 14 Aug 1902 in Birmingham. She is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery (as Mrs. Lada Atkins), Lot 254, Sec. 17.
