I have a family of Coans that I'm interested in. Here is the 1880 census For Franklin county Alabama.
Coan James E head house age 57
Nancy W. wife age 43
Mary I. daughter age 21
Willie daughter age 18
Robert G. son age 15
Joseph Mc son age 13
Farris C. son age 7
infant son 2/12
Here is my problem and would like to prove this, if possible.
My g grandparents were Harley Mack Franks b. 1859 and Mary Ida unknown b. 1857. On the 1910 census for Franklin county Farris Coan was living in the same household as Harley and Mary Ida. He listed his age as 37 and brother in law. Another researcher told me that Farris Coan married a Minnie Franks, I haven't located her yet. Farris died Oct 31, 1915.
Is Farris' sister Mary I my g grandmother? Found on the 1870 census for Franklin co. Al, Mary IS listed as Ida. So all I need to do is prove my Mary Ida is a Coan.
Could anyone tell me anything about this family?
